The Run-Pass option, or "RPO" is one of the foundational plays of the Green Bay Packer offense, but how exactly does it work?

Traditionally, the quarterback takes the snap and "reads" (that's the R) a linebacker. If the linebacker crashes down to stop the run, the quarterback pulls the ball back, and "options" (that's the O) to a "Pass" (That's the P.) If the backer drops back, you give it to the running back for a "Run."
